We invite you to (re)discover the North of Romania on your bike. MTB North Marathon is a sports event for both mountain bike professionals and passionate amateurs. The 8th edition takes place September 1st as part of the Zilele Nordului festival and it will take you to places full of stories from the extreme North of Romania.

On September 1st, we are waiting for you in Pomarla, the village where Eminescu, Slavici, Negruzzi and Vasile Pogor used to teach in the school founded by the nobleman Anastasie Bașotă. Pomarla is 50 km away from Botosani, 45 km away from Darabani and 10 km away from Dorohoi.

You can choose between the long track, of 50 km and the short track, of 30 km. This journey will take you through the Woods of Herța, with a stop at the unique orthodox-catholic church from Hilișeu and then further on, to the sunny hills of Pomarla and the streets where Benjamin Fondaine spent his childhood.

If you are a sports, nature and hiking enthusiast, young at heart and excited to take part in the most important festival in the North, we’re waiting for you in Pomarla!
